The Center for Lactation Science (CLS) was founded in December 2006 in Warsaw, Poland. “CLS” is a continuing education unit for adults entered in the non-public schools and institutions register in Warsaw with a number 931/K. “CLS” is an organizer of postgraduate education for medical doctors, midwifes and nurses. The courses are on different levels of knowledge: for lactation consultants and counsellors (III level), doctors and midwives work as hospital staff introducing standards of perinatal care for mother and newborn (II level). A training is carried out in the field of care on mothers and children, perinatal care; especially concerning lactation counseling and children feeding. The school received Anna Oslislo’s (MD, PhD) name in 2010. The school is supported by The Scientific Board. One of the members of the Scientific Board is Barbara Wilson-Clay, who was also our guest at the conference in June 2011 and at the IBCLC’s meeting in November 2011.
OUR COURSES are conducted according to author’s educational programs which received accreditation and very good OPINIONS. Every year CNoL obtains accreditation of The Centre for Education for Nurses and Midwives and The Regional Doctors Board.
Our LECTURERS and TRAINERS were implementing lactation counseling in Poland for last 20 years and are widely recognized authorities in this field.
According to the status of the institute, school provides widely recognized in Poland CERTIFICATE – a title of Certified Lactation Consultant (CDL – pl. Certyfikowany Doradca Laktacyjny).
“CLS” is the only one institution in Poland providing courses preparing to known worldwide IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) exam.
We also educate individuals of other professions who have positive experiences and want to promote breastfeeding, help mothers in difficult situations and organize health promotion in local societies. For individuals promoting breastfeeding we provide special title – Breastfeeding Promoter (PKP – pl. Promotor Karmienia Piersią).
LACTATION CONSULTANTS provide lactation support, grant visits in lactation outpatient’s clinics and home visits.
